ABOUT US

Bloomsbury Football Foundation is a fast growing charity with a commercial mindset using the power of football to tackle the inactivity and mental health crises facing young people in London. Our inclusive programmes combine high quality coaching, a sliding scale financial assistance model and a football plus curriculum that weaves social and emotional learning into every session. No child is turned away because of cost, gender, ability or background.

Our vision is simple: a world in which football is the heartbeat of healthy, happy, thriving communities.

  • Our mission — Use the power of football to improve mental and physical health, foster community cohesion and build life skills.

  • Our model — Hyper local “Football Communities” run on school grounds, estates and community pitches; free and subsidised places for those who need them; specialist programmes for girls, refugees and young people with disabilities.

Strategy

The next three years in a nutshell:

  1. Scale the model across London — Grow from six to fifteen Football Communities, reaching 20,000 young people every week by 2028.

  2. Strengthen the engine room — Invest in data‑driven programme design, safeguarding, marketing, fundraising and operations to deliver consistent, high‑quality experiences at scale.

  3. Prepare for national expansion — With a trusted brand, proven model and robust infrastructure, we will be ready to replicate our impact in other UK cities.

We are at an exhilarating inflection point: big enough to prove the concept, small enough for every new leader to leave an indelible mark. By joining the team now, you will shape the systems, culture and storytelling that unlock our next wave of growth—and ensure that no young person is left on the sidelines because of where they live or what they can afford.

Finances

Our financial growth mirrors our mission driven ambition. In the past three years alone our income has more than doubled:

  • £2.3 million in FY 2022/23

  • £3.2 million in FY 2023/24

  • £4.6 million forecast for FY 2024/25 (year ending June 2025)

Looking ahead, we are targeting a 50% increase to £6.4 million in FY 2025/26, which will power programmes reaching 10,000 young people every week by June 2026. Solid financial stewardship, a diversified funding base and a proven delivery model give us the confidence—and the runway—to scale with speed and integrity.

Looking further ahead, our financial model projects around £11 million in annual income to sustain programmes for 20,000 young people every week by 2028.
